Hi! My name is Steve McFarland and my blog identity is traveler. The ultimate purpose of this site is for posting information that assists individuals in adopting a more sustainable lifestyle that is healthier and better able to thrive in local and other markets. Don’t be surprised if you find some information that will benefit you, as well. At least, hopefully, it makes some interesting reading.
I have done thousands of hours of research (usually my sources will not be documented) and share it freely with you as this is more of a practical blog space rather than an academic thesis. Each topic will need additional research by you for you to fully implement it to its maximum potential and, particularly, so you can adapt it to your local environment. Your host, traveler, will be posting regularly and welcomes comments and articles from around the world.
Having grown up on a farm, my perspective on sustainable living begins with what one person can do. For the past 18 years my focus has been primarily on renewable energy projects. It has become clear to me that improvements begin with small changes until cultural changes are implemented that will eventually affect communities and nations and continents. Will you travel with me?
