Electric Cars Coming Soon
2010 is a milestone year. All automakers agree that the time is ripe to introduce zero emission EV’s and a few of them actually believe it enough to mass produce them to test the waters. Those are the ones I have given a spotlight position and applaud them for pushing the envelope to be among the first to launch their EV production cars into the marketplace. I personally believe their courage will be rewarded.
Peak Oil is a current reality, even though new oil reserves are being discovered, we are on the decline side of the curve of available petroleum. We all deserve a breath of fresh air and EV’s are giving that to us with amazing technologies and amenities. Below are major automakers’ projections to make their EV’s available to the public.
One of the highlights of the birth of the Green Car Era is when Jay Leno decided to set up a track outside the studio of the Jay Leno Show and bring in a concept of the Ford Focus EV. It is a 100% Battery Electric Vehicle and everyone who participated in Jay’s “Green Car Challenge” was extremely impressed with the handling and the acceleration of the Focus EV. You can watch Jay on the track and see the Green Car in action by viewing the video.
There are automakers popping up with EV entries that do not appear on this page. This is not intended to be a complete report on electric vehicles, just a good sampling to demonstrate that the time has come for this type of clean transportation to take its rightful place.
